An extremely popular annual event is the Karuah Timber and Oyster Festival which this year is being held on the 19th of October. Each year some of the WORLS BEST competitors gather to compete in the weekend’s wood chopping tournament. Held at Longworth Park, on the Karuah River, the town comes to life. Food stalls pack out the park as well as Karuah’s main attraction. The Oysters! The best Australia has to offer. Oysters will be available at Longworth Park. Learn how the locals farm the oysters at one of the oyster sheds that line the river. Don’t miss this fun filled weekend. Plenty of activities for the kids.

Held annually this competition is only for its members, however membership is only $10. Set on the mighty Karuah River, the competition goes over three days with a BBQ and presentation of numerous trophies given out on the Sunday.

Only 80 metres away is Karuah's main attraction. The local RSL. The Bridgeview restaurant inside does an excellent chinese menu. Karuah RSL is a very popular family friendly destination, with kids play area, bowls green functions room, darts, bingo, raffles, keno and a lot more.

Situated on the Karuah River and only 80 meters from the Riverside Motel, this small but lovely club has a nice family friendly feel. The Chinese restaurant inside also has australian meals available as well as buffet nights every Tuesday night.

Open every day from 6am and only 100 meters from Riverside Motel. Fresh bread, pies and pastries available daily.

Open 24 every day, Karuah’s only petrol station caters for all meals. Wi-Fi is also available. (and fuel)

A Greek Restaurant on the edge of town opens from 6pm Friday and Saturday nights. Also open Daily for tea, coffee and light snacks during the day.

Open every day except Tuesdays till 7pm. Situated in the heart of town you will be hard pressed to find better fish and chips anywhere.

Directly over the road from the Riverside Motel. Open 8.30am for breakfast and closes 2.30pm.

Only 80 metres away Old Mates Bakery is open daily and have fresh bread, pies, pastries and cakes available.

Situated in the middle of town This new pizza shop is welcomed by the locals and is becoming increasingly popular. Open Wed - Sun and offers Breakfast, Luch and Dinner.
